David Bowie Passes

          Sad news today. At the age of 69, just three days after the release of his latest album, Blackstar (★), and his birthday David Bowie has passed. Truly sad news. David Bowie and his music have become a big part of my life. I loved listening to his albums and learning how they were made and learning about him and sharing those stories with my friends. I give my sincerest wishes to his family. Rest in peace, David Bowie. And thank you.

Bosnian Rainbows' First Single: Torn Maps

          Bosnian Rainbows released their first single as band earlier this week: Torn Maps. This song also serves as the first single to their debut album of the same name which is due out this summer. Torn Maps is an electric, noisy, groovy, energetic rock song. Torn Maps might not actually be the name of their debut album. I just assumed. Also, the group released their second single last week: Turtle Neck. Check it out below.

Mars Volta On Hiatus, Bosnian Rainbows Shine

          Omar Rodriguez-Lopez has decided to put his baby, The Mars Volta, on an indefinite hiatus and it has been so since September. However, the as working Omar has created a new band, Bosnian Rainbows, along with fellow Mars Volta alumni Deantoni Parks on drum, Teri Gender Bender of Le Butcherettes as lead vocalist, and Nicci Kasper on the keyboard. Bosnian Rainbows is touring right and performing all new material! After listening to a few of their songs I can honestly I love this new band and wait to hear more. Omar remarks that this band is actually a band and that he is not "dictator" here but a team player--there a collaborative effort here. It's a bit sad to see Mars Volta on hiatus, but everyone is working on projects and Bosnian Rainbows one hell of a start. Check out videos and pictures of the band after the jump! Mars Volta has officially disbanded. Cedric Bixler-Zavala gave a statement few weeks ago. Truly sad, but this is how things are sometimes. We do have the awesome Bosnian Rainbows to look forward too, as well as something from Cedric in the near future.

Hikaru Utada's New MV

          Taking a break from her hiatus Hikaru Utada release a song this week: Sakura Nagashi (Flowing Cherry Blossoms). The is a beautiful piano ballad with her signature ethereal sounds and strong voice. After two years without her voice it's really good to her again. And any Evangelion will be pleased to know that she wrote and composed the song specifically for the new Evangelion 3.0 movie, out now in Japan. The song is just a stand-alone release and does not mean her hiatus is over. Watch the MV for Sakura Nagashi below.

The good thing is that I done coding Still Here After Wednesday Night version 5.2.0.0., this means I have more free time however that free time will be mostly used for school until I get everything in order. No Script update this week, but expect one next Sunday. Seeya then.

Elevator Music Video Update 5 ~ [8/26/12]

          In this update I'm update the Script (finally--at the bottom of this page), however it is only of the next two scenes as I've been busy finishing the programming for Shoy Schot's update (a.k.a. Still Here After Wednesday Night 5.2.0.0). I plan on finishing it in the next few days hopefully. With the extra time I update Script throughout the week.

          Over the the past week I've been writing and rewriting the unscripted scenes for episode 1 as well as writing a couple of scene for episode 2. I trying to nail down Collis' character and also improve the pacing of the Script (ep 1). The former I'm getting better at and the latter I won't be able to until I have a completed draft in of me.

          The problems I'm facing with the Script right now are as follows: Looking to be too long (I actually prefer this to being short, but it is pass the comfortably over length point). Some scenes go on for too long while other's aren't long enough. Because of this the pacing is thrown off. Also, a major concern is that this series is both a comedy and drama; the first episode should be teaser for the overall series, provide samplings of most of the main points (within reason)--I'm hitting the comedy but not so much the drama. Now this will come in later. I already have some scenes written for later in the season that have drama/character development and I even have these scenes in the first episode but the pacing is a bit messy. These are the problems I'm looking to fix as I go on.

          Lastly, I start back college tomorrow--what does that mean for Elevator Music? Mostly nothing that will hinder my writing as it's already been hinder with my programming. Actually, this is a good thing. I'll have down time to writing more at school and also--the biggest thing--I can use the school's internet to upload videos, which means I can make longer more in-depth video updates if I need to. Also, I can practice speaking on camera. All in all, this is good.

          O.K. guys, this will be it for this update. I felt you deserved a meatier update since the video won't be here till later and the Script didn't receive as big an update as I promised. Seeya.
