Shoy Schot! nui Press Release


          Virtual Gaia Games is proud to introduce Shoy Schot! nui, an electronic card game. The game will release Sunday, December 29th, 2013 to all PC user for free!

          Shoy Schot! is an additive, console-based, strategic card game created in C#. Starting out as a simple minigame about flipping cards and gaining ownership over the game board it soon blossomed into a full fledged card game with a mega ton of customization options and gameplay modes. And now, with Shoy Schot! nui, it has finally reached its ultimate form!

          Shoy Schot! nui retains all the features of the previous release (Shoy Schot! Stand-Alone Edition Version 2.0.1.9) which included (but not limited to): 5 main Rule Sets to play in their own Free Play modes; an Arcade-like mode called Unlimited Deck Mode; a Best Of… Mode to play consecutive matches; a robust Tournament Mode for serious play; 22 Accomplishments to earn; Stats pages that kept over 80 stats; a Personal Rank Card to share and compare with other Shoy Schot! players; 8 profiles for same computer, different persons use; and Virtual Gaia Games Matching!, a completely separate matching minigame.

          New features to Shoy Schot! nui include (but not limited to): a Custom Rule Set Maker, where players can build their own custom Rule Sets; Endless Tower, which is a survival mode; a Score Attack Mode; Arcade Challenges where players can try to conquer all 40 challenges; a single player tournament mode called Arcade Battle Campaign, a Tutorial Mode, where players can learn the basics of the game in a new, more interactive way; a new mini-game called Clementine; 26 more Accomplishments to earn; more Stats; and slew of secrets and tweaks.

          Shoy Schot! nui also marks Virtual Gaia Games’ final game made in this text-based style. Shoy Schot! nui is our swan song to this type of design. While being made in this engine, Shoy Schot! has never been a graphical powerhouse, but we think anyone who has played it in the past has had a lot of fun and we believe Shoy Schot! nui will continue this feat threefold!!

Shoy Schot! nui Release Date Announcement


          Hi, Everyone!

          I am proud to announce that Shoy Schot! nui, Virtual Gaia’s much delayed Electronic Card Game, is done and has entered into Final Testing!! I’m even more proud to announce the Release Date of the game: December 29th, 2013. That’s right, Shoy Schot! nui will go live next Sunday for the economical price of FREE!!

          The next thing I want to cover is: What exactly Shoy Schot! nui? I think I’ve alluded to it in the past, but I’ve never formally announced it. After a long (very long) development and many additions that weren’t included in the original scope of the project, Shoy Schot! nui is no longer third version of Shoy Schot! Stand-Alone Edition (SS! SAE) but its own entity. Think of it more like the evolution of SS! SAE, just like SS! SAE was the evolution of the original minigame version of Shoy Schot!

          So, what does that mean? Just that the game grew big enough to warrant a separation. It feels different, it’s noticeable bigger and slicker. That said, Save Data from any previous version of Shoy Schot! is 100% compatible with Shoy Schot! nui. Also, it will retain SS! SAE version numbering and still be released as Version 3.0.0.0.

          A more formal Press Release will be issued a little later that will include more information and a full features list, but until then here is a short list of new features including in the upcoming Shoy Schot! nui:
  • All Shoy Schot! Stand-Alone Edition v2 Features
  •  6 New Game Modes
    • Custom Rule Set
    • Endless Tower

Elevator Music Can Be Good Music Too [Update 9 ~ 10/28/12]

          Hey, guys. It's been awhile, huh? At least for Elevator Music after a bit of a hiatus. No video this update, but the Script has been updated from last month. It's still not complete. Progress has been slow because of school and me working on other projects. Expect progress to continue slow as school is my priority, but it will be finish prior to the new year. I promise. Hopeful by the next update.

          Speaking of the next update, I'll going to continue this format of writing more and have no video. Also, I think doing a month instead of weekly schedule for these updates makes more sense giving the slow progress. The next update will be at the end of November.

          So, what's been happening with Elevator Music the past month in terms progress? Actually more than you would think giving the break. The script has been giving a number of minor fixes as well as have scene 3 rewritten and so smoother transitions added in. On the non-physical side, some characters been more clearly defined. Neil is down. I took a look at some of the stories themes and am making sure they are well represented in the season and story overall. Changed, given, and/or built upon character themes. Season 1 is still giving me trouble, but a lot of thing a clear now. Now I need to focus on finishing episode 1.

In Still Here, at the very beginning of a new game or new game + cheatcodes may be entered. To do this simply start a new game or new game + and don't move from that spot! Instead type in CHEAT and you should hear a beep. Voila. To skip to the Epilogue type in NE after CHEAT. You should hear another beep if successful. To quickly unlock Shoy Schot! type in SS after CHEAT. You should hear another beep if successful.

      >SS (beep)

Castella In Theory 2: The Worst Of Derek Russell

          Kept you waiting, huh? Well, 14 months later I am finally done with the second story in Castella In Theory: The Worst Of Derek Russell (We Always But We Never). The story is a 44 page character drama about high school delinquent Derek Russell. The format is PDF. Please comment on it, good or bad. If you like it tell a friend. If there are still any lingering grammatical errors (which there are most likely one or two) please tell me and I will fix it and put up a revised PDF. Also, I'm putting up the PDF. versions of the first story, Follow My Lead, here too! Fixes have been added, though I purposely kept one mistake. Find them right under the new story's link.

UPDATE 4: Just to show you guys how far the story has come and how much I did in polishing and editing I'm uploading the horrible Tenth Draft. This is what I based PEP I on.

Finally Finished: Polishing and Contest Holding


            Hey, guys, Vahsol here. I’ve done it- I finally- become- a summoner. I’ve finished writing the story and heading into the polishing phase. But that’s not all that important. What is, is I’m now officially announcing the reference contest for the story. Here’s the quick version: The story is packed with references to movies, music, games, and a few other things. The person who correctly gives me the most references wins the big prize. To send me the reference simply sent them to my e-mail agncolem@aol.com with ‘Reference Contest’ in the subject line. I've Returned

          Yo, anyone who actually visits. I’ll returned from the bowels of the otherworld to update this blog. Really, my school load just lightened up some. Anyway, I have a few updates for the today.
          First. After two years and a month, Tokyopop has finally release Full Metal Panic! Ending Day by Day! And like promised it is in fact the complete arc, encompassing volume 4 and 5. It’s huge and I am very happy to have my copy. If you like Full Metal Panic! or military hijinks and action comedy pick it up now.
